Becoming a Bar Mitzvah is a Jewish rite of passage when a child turns 13 years old and is recognized as an adult for purposes of religious obligations and privileges. To mark the occasion, the Bar Mitzvah traditionally is called before the congregation on Shabbat to recite blessings, read from the Torah scroll and other passages of scripture, and lead parts of the prayer service.
Adam will be honored as a Bar Mitzvah on January 18 during the Saturday morning service at our congregation, Temple Rodef Shalom. It is customary for family and friends to share in this simcha (joyous event) with the congregation. That evening, we will come together again for dinner, dancing, and fun at The Barns at Wolf Trap.

The service will begin promptly at 10:30 am. Please allow yourself time to be seated in the sanctuary before the service starts.
For those who cannot attend, the service will be live-streamed.
Guests are invited to the congregation's social hall immediately after the service for a light, informal lunch (bagels, salads, fruit, pastries, coffee, etc.).
Please join us for an evening of merriment to celebrate Adam's milestone. There will be dinner, dancing, and entertainment for all ages.
